WorldBeat is PAC’s annual multicultural showcase, staged in the ballroom at the Plymouth International Hotel.
Our theme this year speaks to the universal beats of the human experience, interpreted in unique yet relatable ways by cultures around the globe. From the first rhythm we all hear, the mother's heartbeat, we are all connected.

Our rates for WorldBeat are $20 for adults, $10 for youth up to age 18, and $40 for a “family pack” - either 2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children.
WorldBeat performers are of course admitted free, but do not receive additional free tickets for their guests.
PAC received feedback from guests last year that we were actually undercharging for what proved to be an excellent show. We are balancing this with our desire to keep our shows very affordable compared to similar events.

This is our first year using a professional ticketing system, through Humanitix. They will charge you a minimal service fee, which goes to charity.
On the day of the show, we will scan your e-ticket at the door.

Yes, if the show is not yet sold out, we will have door sales as well. We recommend buying in advance to avoid disappointment.

Humanitix offers order management options such as resale, or you can forward your ticket email to someone else who can attend instead. The QR code will work once per ticket, scanned at the door. See your ticket email for more details.

Please purchase yourself a ticket, as you will not be needed backstage after the doors are open at 6pm :-) Your young performer will be well tended by their group leader, stage manager, and team of volunteers.
Your child will be released to you in the audience to watch part of the show together, until they are needed back at the Green Room, we will have stage runners to assist with this.

WorldBeat is a concert style performance, with a narrated story in between acts. We expect you will be delighted by our wide variety of acts all the way through to the final bow.
All tickets are general admission. We have tables available for event sponsors and their guests only. We recommend arriving by 6pm, when the ballroom doors open, to secure your preferred seat.
There is also a restaurant (bookings essential), bar, and lounge available if you would like to relax onsite before the show. We will also have a bar open in the ballroom with simple nibbles available.

PAC has always had families in mind, both on and off the stage. While the shrinking funding pool for arts across all of NZ this year meant we had to cancel the matinee especially for children, we have moved the show time to the early evening and shortened the overall length.
You are the best judge of whether your child will enjoy a two hour event, and the hotel does have lounge spaces outside the ballroom if you need to give them a break from sitting down quietly. Please supervise your children at all times, thank you!

Singing
Manoj Chakko sang in Limelight, backed up by his daughter and her friend on guitar and drums.
Multigenerational and multigenre collaborations - we love to see it! This was Manoj’s first time performing in English. For WorldBeat, he will be treating us to classical Indian vocal techniques.

Dancing
Ally Fearns danced with Juniper and the Gems, drawing on years of experience learning raqs sharqi (bellydance) in both Auckland and New Plymouth.
She also designed and created her own costuming for Limelight. This traditional outfit is called a “bedlah,” which means “suit” in Arabic.

Music
Nathaniel Gordon and Vanessa Xu represent AFINCA on our WorldBeat poster, demonstrating the percussion which is essential to this year’s showcase theme.
AFINCA is an inclusive group of musicians, welcoming all with an interest in rhythms from around the world.

Modeling
Bea Nguyen (in blue) together with other models showcased the beauty of Vietnam, a well known fashion hub of quality textiles and tailors.
Last year, we were also treated to a hat dance by members of V Dance. For WorldBeat, we are looking forward to their umbrella dance.
